Space Derby

Last Night for pack meeting they had a Space Derby instead of the traditional Pinewood Derby. Jake graduated from cub scouts in December, so he didn't get to make a spaceship. Joshua had a good time making his rocket. All the boys were able to race their spacecraft, but it was all for fun. They only handed out awards for the fastest, and the best design, and everyone received a certificate for participating. They let the boys decide on who's was the fastest, and who had the best design. Josh's wasn't the fastest, but he still had a great time.

5 Months Old

Jena turned 5 months old yesterday. Where is the time going? I think it is moving faster than ever, maybe that is because she is my last baby! We are loving every minute of having Jena in our family, she has brought so much joy to all of us. She has the cutest laugh ever. She really loves Jacey and that is when we here her laugh the most.! She is very vocal! She likes to talk a lot. I wonder where she got that from? I am posting a couple pictures one is of Jacey and Jena as princesses and the other is Jena's 5 month picture.
As you can see by the pictures Jacey's favorite past time is playing dress up, some days I wonder why she even gets dresses because for the most part she is only wearing her dress up clothes.

New Beginnings

Last night we had our New Beginnings for Young Women's. I felt that it turned our really nice. The Mutual Theme for the year is Be thou and example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith,in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12). The First Counselor in the Young Women gave a wonderful talk on the theme, and then we had a some of the Young Women in our ward give talks on an example of each value. They all did a really great job. They also sang a really beautiful song called A Lighthouse in the Night. It was a really nice evening.
I received my Young Women Recognition Award last night. I have been working really hard on getting it since I was put in as a leader. I am hoping that by me receiving mine, that I have inspired the girls to want to receive theirs. I have always regretted not receiving mine while I was in the Young Women program as a teenager. I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to finish it now and to be an example to the Young Women in my ward. I love my calling and I love being able to work with the young ladies of my ward, they are wonderful girls.

It's Back!

The snow is back! We were only supposed to get an inch of Snow on Thursday night, but Friday morning we woke up to more like a foot! I managed to get Joe's car stuck at the end of our drive way trying to take the boys to school. Luckily my neighbor Glen was there to help. He was gracious enough to load the boys into his pick up and run them to school, and then he came back and cleared my driveway with his snow blower and help me get the car unstuck! Thanks Glen you are awesome.
We got up this morning to even more snow. It snowed all morning and part of the afternoon. The kids have been loving every minute of it. It is real wet snow so they have been building forts and having lots of fun. I'm sure glad that someone likes the snow, because it isn't my favorite thing!

Home Sweet Home

We spend the three day weekend down in Ogden. My niece blessed her new baby boy on Sunday, (the main reason for our visit to Ogden) We had a really good time visiting with our family and friends. The kids love when they get to spend time with their aunts, uncles, and cousins. I also love to spend time with family. Maybe someday it won't be so hard to say goodbye.
I can't believe how glad Jena was to be home. She was very pleasant the whole time we were gone, but she was very happy to be home. Her face lit up when we came in the house.
Josh also told me today that he was glad to be home! We really do love spending time with all of our family in Utah, but it's also nice to come home!

Got Fuel?

This afternoon we were heading to the doctor for Joshua's allergy shot. We are driving down the road and as I am going through the round about the van dies. I managed to get out of the round about and pull off to the side of the road and call Joe. So Joe comes out to get us, and he can't get the van to start either. He thinks that the engine threw a rod, so I am all worried wondering what we will do about that, but he tells me to run home and get the gas can and to come back and we will see if the van is out of gas. I tell him that I had driven the van earlier and hadn't had any problems with it, so he want to know why I didn't fill the tank while I was out running around earlier today. I didn't fill up because I figured that we would do that before we left for Ogden tomorrow.

Well I am never going to live this down because I had just run out of gas! I feel really dumb now.

I have to say that I am really disappointed in the people of Idaho Falls. In all the time that I sat and waited for Joe to come 1 person out of probably hundreds stopped and asked me if I needed help, and the same thing happened while Joe was waiting for me to come back with the gas can. Thanks to the two gentlemen who stopped to help.

What Day is It Mom?

We are heading down to Ogden after the boys get out of school tomorrow. Jacey is so excited to go down and see Grandma and Grandpa that everyday she asks me What day is it mom? I have been hearing this for the last few days, I will be glad when I can tell her tomorrow that it is Friday!

I started Jena on Cereal this week. I'm not sure if I like this mile stone or not. She is growing up too fast!

She isn't real sure if she likes cereal or not, I do have to say that the nice thing about cereal is that she doesn't want to eat quite as often especially when I feed her in the evenings. Now if we could just master sleeping all night!

My Husband is Wonderful!

I just wanted to say I have the most wonderful husband in the world.
Jacey woke up in the middle of the night throwing up, and Joe got up with her and helped her get all cleaned up, and then he cleaned up the mess she had made. He is absolutely wonderful! Thanks Honey!

Fire Station Field Trip

We went to the fire station today as a field trip for pre school. Jacey was unbelievably shy, which is so unlike her. She stared to answer some of the questions that the firefighter asked, that was until he put on his fire gear. She was absolutely terrified of him after that and wouldn't go anywhere near him. They kids were able to see the fire hoses, the fire truck, and some of the other tools that firefighters use. They were also able to get inside of an ambulance. That was another one she would have nothing to do with. I am posting a picture, again it is one of me, Jacey and Jena standing in front of an ambulance. I don't dare post the ones with the other kids in it because again I don't know how their parent would feel about it!

D.A.R.E. Graduation

Last night Jakob graduated from the Dare program. They had a really long program. They had 2 students from each class read an essay that they wrote. Then they sang a couple of songs, handed out the DARE certificates and had a DARE movie presentation that featured the two classes. Then the officer that is over the DARE program at the school and some of the other DARE officers preformed a couple of songs. All in All it was a pretty good program but really long especially for two little sisters and the younger brother!
I am posting a picture of Jakob, because I don't know how the other parents would feel about my posting their children's pictures on my blog!

Yay She Finally Did It!

So today is the big day. Jena rolled over. We are such dorks we all had to clap and cheer for her!

Saturday, January 3, 2009

Today I decided to put Jena down of the floor on her tummy to try and get her to roll over. She laid there for a few minutes lifting her head up and talking, one minute she is laying there talking to her dad and the next minute she was fast asleep. I couldn't believe how fast she went to sleep.
