Jena's new favorite past time!

Jena loves to jump on the trampoline, she calls it hop hop hopping! She doesn't really jump she just likes to stand on it. She was spoiled by the warmer weather in Utah the last time we were there and thinks that she needs to be outside all the time. The first thing she does every morning when she gets up is puts her jacket on over her pj's and goes over to the door and says "Outside" I have a feeling I am going to be spending a lot of time outside this spring and summer!

13 years ago today

I married my best friend in the Logan Utah Temple for time and all eternity. We have had 13 wonderful years, and I am happy that we have eternity! I love you Joe!

Merit Badge Project (beware lots of pictures)

Jakob is working on getting the photography merit badge. He decided that he wanted to use the artistic benches in downtown Idaho Falls as his subject. We had so much fun yesterday searching for all the benches we could find for him to take pictures of. We found all but four of them. If any of you know the exact location of the Geese, Moose and Petroglyphs benches and could tell us that would be great!

He took all these pictures himself. Josh also took pictures of these benches with my camera we are hoping he can use them for something in the weblos book!
(I hope we are doing what we are supposed to for the merit badge requirements, if not we still had a really fun Saturday activity)

Crazy, Busy, Hectic Life (this post is long sorry!)

This has been a crazy busy, hectic last week. Last Wednesday Night was the Blue and Gold Banquet. Joe and Josh had to decorate a cake, they decided to do a party hat since the theme was Happy Birthday BSA. I had to go to a couple different stores before I found the cake pan.

The colors aren't exactly blue and gold, but blue and yellow. Josh said the colors fit better for a baby shower! Joe was a little miffed when everyone else showed up with cakes like a tank,

a hummer and a dragon, he said if he knew that you could do any kind of cake he would have done something totally different, but they were going for the Happy Birthday theme. (have I mentioned that I am glad this is our last year of cub scouts?) Josh received 5 awards, he has been working really hard in scouts since he finally got scout leaders a couple months ago!

Thursday afternoon after the kids got out of school we headed down to Utah to spend a few days with Joe's Family.

Joe's mom was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer a few weeks ago and had surgery on Monday March 1, so Joe wanted to spend some time with her and we also wanted the kids to see her before she had surgery. Joe has taken the news of his mom having cancer quite hard, since we live in Idaho and she is in Utah, he felt like he couldn't really do anything for her. We had a really good visit with his family. We had a family dinner on Saturday Night, so the kids had a blast with their cousins, and Joe and his brothers and brother in law had a nice friendly game of basketball (I think they had more fun than the kids did).

We also had a nice visit with my parents, and a couple of my siblings and their kids while we were there!

Friday February 26 was Joe's birthday, we didn't really do much celebrating, we went to the Greek Garden for dinner (Because you can't find a Gyro as good as their's in Idaho) hopefully we can go out some time this weekend!

Sunday the 28Th Jena turned 18 months old. It was her first official week of Nursery (We have been taking her for a couple of weeks to get her acquainted with the nursery leaders). Since we were at Grandma's she got to go to Nursery in Grandma's ward. She actually let me leave her there. We have had to stay with her every time we have taken her in our ward. (I think it is because the nursery leaders in our ward are men.)

Jena's four favorite words are:

Monday was the Surgery, so Joe and I along with his Brother, Sister, Dad, Aunt, and 2 of his Uncles spend the day at LDS Hospital. The Surgery took about 4 hours, and when it was all over, the Doctor said it was a textbook surgery. He was very optimistic that with the surgery and the Chemo she would make a full recovery. We are very grateful to everyone who has been praying for her and the the Burger Family!

We got home at about 11:15 Monday night, and I have been doing catch up laundry and house work ever since, hopefully life will get back to normal soon!

Jena loves her tickle me Elmo doll, she has figured out that if she lays on him then he will giggle, this is what I found when I went to investigate why she and Elmo were being so quiet.

17 Months Old

Jena had her first ever ear infection in January, I felt like a terrible mother, because I had no idea that her ear hurt. she had been a little on the grumpy side and was running a slight fever, but she was cutting a tooth so I figured that was what was wrong with her. Then one morning as I was combing her hair I noticed she had goo coming out her ear. We had 10 days of an oral antibiotic and 7 days of ear drop antibiotics, hopefully she is completely over it now! When I took her in to see the Doctor she had gained almost 2 pounds, I hope that when we take her in next month her Doctor will be happy with the weight gain. ( I guess Pedia Sure really does work, and she actually likes it!)

Only one more month until Nursery!

Pinewood Derby

Last Night was Joshua's last pinewood derby (I am so glad we don't have to worry about another derby car again).

He wanted his car to look like a Pink Pearl Eraser (pretty clever if you ask me). Sorry the picture isn't very good I took it with the camera on my cell phone.

At the starting line (this is Brother Powell one of Josh's scout leaders, I hope he doesn't mind having his picture posted).

The scout leaders gave him the best E-racer award! He ranked 7Th over all, I don't know how happy he was with his ranking. I told him it didn't matter how well he ranked as long as he had a good time, and I think he did!

16 Month Photos

Alright here are Jena's 16 month pictures, I know I'm a little slow considering that she was 16 months on the 28Th of December.

Conversations with Jacey

Lastnight we are driving down the road to go buy ice cream and Jacey says to me:

"Mom who will teach me how to cook?" and I said

"When you get bigger I will teach you how to cook, Why."

"So I can cook for my kids" she says.

I said "you are going to have kids?" and her response was: "yes when I get big I am going to have kids. I am going to marry a boy. I don't know what boy, I will decide when I am a teenager and we will go on dates and then we will get married."

Keep in mind that she is only 6, I'm not sure why she is worried about learning how to cook and what boy she is going to marry!

D.A.R.E Graduation

Last night was D.A.R.E Graduation for Josh and his fellow 5Th grade classmates. I am only posting pictures of Josh and his graduation certificate because I don't have permission from the other kids parents to post pictures of their children (and I let Jake take the pictures and most of them are blurry).

You would have thought we were at a rock concert with how loud the kids were all screaming, I may regain my hearing again someday!

Congratulations to Josh on graduating from D.A.R.E. I hope that he will always remember the things that Officer Miller taught him and stay drug free.

Look Grandpa

Jena is finally warming up to you!

Jena isn't really a people person and for some reason she doesn't like her Grandpa very much. Any time he talks to her or even looks at her she runs away from him, but the last time he was here she finally decided that maybe she liked him enough to share Elmo and Barney with him. We are making some progress Grandpa!

Snow much fun!

Jacey built this snowman all by herself!

The kids are glad to have some snow to play in. It is so nice living right across the street from the church, because the kids have some really good snow hills made by the plow that plows the church parking lot. It's nice that I can just send them over to the church to sled and I can stay in my nice warm house!

Merry Christmas

Santa was very good to us this year, the kids all really liked what they got, as you can see Jena really enjoyed opening presents!
