Crazy Thunder and Lightening Storm

We had a crazy Thunder and Lightening Storm yesterday,  I got up around 1:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep.  The storm lasted until about 6:30 am.  We then had more off and on all day.  Here are some pictures of the sky.

First day of School, and I can't believe that my baby is in Kindergarten

Here are the first day of school pictures of every one except Jake, because he doesn't start school until tomorrow. (Freshman day at the High School, so they are the only one's required to attend).

I can't believe that my baby started Kindergarten today, I thought I was alright with her going, but I had a hard time holding back the tears when I dropped her off.  I asked her if she was going to miss me while she was at school, her response "No Mom"

We found a really good deal on a back splash for our kitchen, so here are a before and after of it!

After the back splash, we still need to grout and paint, but it looks so much better already!

This was yesterday and today's project, a new to us garage door. 

Our old garage door was a piece of junk, and has been since we moved in 7 years ago.

It was money well spent!

Next project on our list:

Fixing the power steering pump and pulley on Joe's car! It seems like every time a new semester starts Joe's car breaks down, seriously it is getting really old.  Until his car is fixed I am the taxi service. the first couple of days next week may prove very interesting with only one car and Joe and the kids all back in school, and him and Jakob both working,  hopefully even with Monday being a holiday the auto parts store can still get us the parts in 24 hours.

My Baby is 5!

This little girl has brought so much joy and laughter into our family, I don't know what we would do with out her.  I can't believe that she is 5!   It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital.

Being all domestic again!

My parents came and spent the last five days with us, it was so nice to see them, and I am always sad to see them go.

I really hope they enjoyed their time here, because I sure enjoyed having them here.

A new semester

Joe started school today, he is on his third semester back at ISU.  It's hard to have him gone so much, but it will be well worth it when he is finished!  I didn't take a back to school picture of him this time around. (I don't think he would have agreed to it)

Look who's Birthday it is!

Happy Birthday Josh!  Where does the time go?  I can't believe that he is 14, and going to high school in a couple of weeks.

Josh is a highlight in our family, he is smart, funny, and a really great brother to his sibling.  We are so proud of him!

On Sunday he will be ordained to the office of a Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood.  we are so proud of you and the good choices that you are making!

Fun with Cousins!

My brother and Sister in Law and their  family came to visit over the weekend.  The kids love it when their cousins come to see them!

The highlight of the weekend was going to a car show and then out to Rigby Lake for some fun!

When it was time for the Cragun's to go home, my nephew Levi didn't want to go, he told his dad that he wanted to stay here because he has brother's at our house.  I love that !

our latest remodeling project

We are redoing our downstairs bathroom.  My oldest sister had new flooring put in her house about six years ago, and she gave us the tile that they took out of her house, so after six years sitting in the garage, it is now in the bathroom.  

I forgot to take before pictures, but here is a picture of the new vanity and counter top, we also painted the bathroom pebble gray, it looks so much better than the ugly peach color it was before!

We bought the vanity at the Habitat for Humanity Re-store, it was a really ugly oak color, so we went to the Home Depot and bought a cabinet restore kit that is made by Rustoleum, and a new counter top at Lowes.  

we also bought new handles and hinges to finish the look!  I think it turned out really nice, and it was a lot less expensive than buying a whole new vanity!

Cousin Fun

My sister went to girls camp for the week, so she brought her girls to say with our girls.  They really love to see them!

Jacey and Jena were really sad to see the girls go, they can't wait to see them again!
