Joe has been having some health issues for a few months now, he get really dizzy and has blacked out a couple of times, one time was while he was sitting in his computer class at school, so over his spring break I took him into the doctor to see if we could figure out what is going on with him. They ran a bunch of blood work on him, one of the test was to see if he was diabetic. The doctor told us that if all of the test came back normal then the next step was to come in for an Insulin Resistance test. The first round of tests only showed that he was Vitamin D deficient, so they put him on some meds for that, and then we had to go back and do the 3 hour Insulin Resistance test. We found out yesterday that he is in fact Insulin Resistant, so he is now on meds for that and we have to do a life style change and change our diet. We are now learning how to balance carbs and proteins, which is really hard work! Hopefully with the medication and learning to balance the carbs and proteins we will get him healthy again.
On a positive note, He is doing really well at school! He did awesome on all of his mid terms. Only a few more weeks and another semester is over and he is one step closer to graduating with an Electrical Engineer degree!

San Diego
Joshua was able to go with the High School Band to San Diego over spring break.
They left from the High School Wednesday morning at 6:30 am and traveled to Cedar City Utah, where they attended a clinic at Southern Utah University. Thursday morning they boarded the bus and headed for San Diego. Thursday evening they went to an outdoor mall the cool thing that happened on Thursday evening was that his Uncle Rex and his family were also in San Diego on spring break so he was able to meet up with them at the mall. (Rex lives in Utah, when he texted to tell me that they found Josh, I told him that it was pretty sad that they all had to go to San Diego to see each other)
Friday they went to the beach and also preformed at the Festival, they also went to Old Town San Diego. Saturday they went and did a tour of the USS Midway, and then went to Sea World. The band won a 2nd Silver award for their performance at the festival.

He said that he had he a really good time, despite that they were supposed to arrive home by 1 pm on Sunday, but they didn't get home until almost 6 pm because the bus driver got lost around 4:30 Sunday morning.

Guess who's 40? (and not very Happy about it, p.s. it's not me!)
Happy Birthday to the most wonderful husband and father in the whole world. We love you and are so thankful for all you do to provide for our family. I am so proud of you for going back to school to finish your degree, it will all be worth it when you are finished.
I am sure that this is going to be a really hard day for Joe, not only because he is turning 40, but it has only been a few weeks since he lost him mom. Celebrating your birthday without your mom is hard.

I asked Joe not to buy me flowers this year, because we had a big beautiful flower arrangement left over from the funeral services that I was going to enjoy, but we didn't have any room in the car to bring it back from Utah with us.
Instead he took me to lunch and bought me my favorite chocolates, Lindor truffles!
In Loving Memory
I had to wait a week to do this post, because it makes me so sad. Joe's mom passed away on February 4, 2014, from a long hard battle with Ovarian Cancer. We are so saddened by the loss of our Mother and Grandmother. She was a really amazing person, and we miss her terribly.
I am so thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for the knowledge of Eternal Families. We know that we will be with her again.
We had a beautiful funeral service for her on Saturday February 8, 2014. She was loved by everyone who ever had the chance to know her, and it was evidence by all of the people who were in attendance at the services.

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Wendy Kay Burger, passed away on February 4, 2014. Wendy attended Clearfield High School and Weber State College. She married her sweetheart, Marvin Joseph Burger on November 2, 1972. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
Wendy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, faithfully serving in many callings.
She enjoyed being a Teacher's Aide at Lomond View Elementary and loved doing genealogy. But her biggest passion in life was her family.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Joe; children, Theresa (Michael) Rawlings, Marvin Joseph Jr. (Becca) Burger, Michael ( Billie Jo) Burger, Marcus (Amy) Burger, Mandalyn (Marc) Penrod, Mason (Sarah) Burger, Melissa (Kevin) Adams and Madison Burger; 16 grandchildren; and siblings, Karren (Don) Bott, Valerie Henderson, Karla (Phil) Nelson, Victor "Kevin"(Roni) Fisher, Kurt (Vicki) Fisher, Claude (Tammy) Fisher, Jon (Darlene) Fisher and George Cherry.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Harrisville 6th Ward, 113 Childs Avenue. A family and friends gathering will be held on Friday, February 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd and prior to services from 8:45 to 9:45 at the church.
Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
