Craft Project

Every once in a while I get the urge to be crafty, and yesterday was one of those days, so I did a little searching (I mean blog stalking) and found this cute in expensive project.
This is what I made today:

They are for holding hair bows, and having two girls in the house we have lots of hair bows! The nice thing about this project was that it was pretty much free to make because I had all the stuff to make them at home!
The needed supplies are:
8x10 photo frames
ribbon
and a hot glue gun
The one with the pink ribbon is for Jacey, and the one with the purple ribbon is for Jena.

for your viewing pleasure

Polly put the kettle on, or as Jena sings it Holly Put the kettle on!

This little girl provides us with hours and hours of entertainment!

You Know it's time to get your child's eyes checked when....

You are driving along I-15 and there are hundreds of deer out the passenger side of the van and your 11 year old can't see any of them.
We were driving home from a quick trip to Utah last night, and there were hundreds of deer on the mountain, we kept pointing them out to the kids every time we would see a heard of them and Josh kept saying "where, I can't see them."
We finally had to pull off at the rest stop, because there were some along the rest stop road, so that Josh could see them!
I guess it is time to take him in to have his eyes checked. It hasn't even been a year yet, but I have been thinking about taking him any way because he is always squinting, and this just confirmed my theory that his eyes have changed again. (We wanted to wait until closer to back to school in the fall because he wants contact lenses, but I don't think we had better wait much longer!)

Keeping Busy

We have been keeping busy the last few days, the boys are moving to their own rooms in the basement, so we have been busy cleaning, organizing (trying anyway!) and beginning to paint! Hopefully in the next week or so they will get moved to the basement, and we can get Jacey moved to her new room, and life will get back to normal!

I forgot how not fun...

Potty training is!
We decided Sunday Night after Jena had taken off a stinky diaper all by herself that it was time to potty train.
She actually isn't doing too bad, we have only had a couple of accidents, but I'm not ready to take her out in public without a diaper on and she still has to sleep in one, but maybe in the next week or so we will be ready to be with out diapers for good!

Feeling sad

I got released from my calling as the Young Women Secretary yesterday. I have really struggled with the idea of being released since the Bishop called me in to tell me that they were going to release me.
I have really enjoyed being in the Young Women program and getting to know the girls that are in my ward.
I am feeling really sad because I feel like Young Women is all I know, I have had a calling in the Young Women Program since before Jacey was born (she will be 8 this year).
I am really afraid of what the new calling is going to be, I really don't want to be a primary teacher, but if that is where they need me then that is where I will be. I am really hoping that they are going to let me be an adult for a while. It has been a long time since I have been in Relief Society, and I am thinking that is where I would really like to be able to spend some time.

Rollerskating Fun

Last Night was our ward rollerskating party, who knew Jena would have so much fun skating. I think she had the most fun of everyone!

Visiting family was just what I needed!

We decided spur of the moment to make a trip down to Utah over the weekend. We were able to visit with my parents and a couple of my siblings and their kids on Saturday, and we were able to visit with Joe's parents and his siblings on Sunday. This was just the medicine that I needed to cure some of the winter blues I have been feeling for the last few weeks. Now hopefully this will be enough to keep my spirits lifted while Joe is off traveling most of the month of February.

Words of Advice from my two year old

As I was walking out the door to go pick Joe up from the airport Jena says: " Bye Mom Be Good!" I had a good chuckle!

Jena has a new love

and his name is Mickey Mouse! When she sees anything with Mickey Mouse on it she thinks she needs it. She has a stuffed Mickey, a Mickey Mouse plate, Minnie Mouse socks, a Mickey Mouse Hoodie, and several Mickey Mouse Sippy Cups!
Grandpa I think Jena should be your favorite grand child because of her love for Mickey Mouse! She is a girl after your heart!
