8 Months Old

I can't believe that my baby is already 8 months old. I think the lady at church is so right, the time go's by so much faster when your baby is on the outside compared to when they are on the inside!
I must say that Jena is pretty dang smart. She has been crawling all over the place for about a month, she has even tried to climb the stairs, and she is pulling her self up on the furniture , she tries to climb up the wall, she will even take a few steps if you are holding her hands. I know she will be walking in no time, and I'm not sure that I like that idea at all. She gets into everything she can get her hands on, we are constantly taking things out of her mouth that she has found on the floor. I could vacuum 100 times a day and I think she would still be able to find something to put in her mouth. She is quite the chatter box when she wants to be. She can say mama (which she says a lot) and I have been trying to teach her to say dada. Most of the time when I ask her to say dada she just looks at Joe and smiles! She is totally in love with Jacey and the boys her face lights up whenever she sees them, and I know they feel the same way about her.

I Love Spring!

These are some of the daffodils that are growing in my front yard.

I love the spring time, when everything is fresh and new, the sun shines, the weather turns warmer (So the kids can play outside) and the flowers bloom! This time of year reminds me of the Love of our Heavenly Father and all that he has created for us to enjoy!

I Love You Mama

My sister sent me this clip, I thought it was funny! I hope you enjoy it too!

A Conversation with Jacey

This is a conversation Jacey and I had yesterday.

Me: " Jacey do you know our phone number?"

Jacey: "yes" and then she tells me our phone number

Jacey: "and I know Grandmas too"

Me: "Oh you do? What is it?"

Jacey: "you push number 4"

I thought that was pretty funny, Grandma's number is 4 on my cell phones speed dial!

Pre School Activity

This week is my week to teach our neighborhood pre school. I have been avoiding taking my turn ever since our kitchen flooded, so it has been a while since the kids have been to my house. I was having a hard time deciding what to teach them this week, and then I got the idea to have them make bread in a bag and butter by shaking whipping cream and salt in a pint jar. They each were able to make their own loaf of bread to take home with them when we were finished. We also read the story The Little Red Hen and ate bread and butter as our treat today. I think that they all had a good time, but I learned an important lesson. NEVER give 4 little kids flour. By the time I had the dough out in front of them they had the flour all over! I don't know how the other mothers would feel about me posting pictures of their children so you only get to see pictures of Jacey. (Sorry Julie I didn't crop Kyler out of the pictures)

Now I just need to come up with something for them to do on Wednesday.

Fun Weekend

We babysat some kids from our ward over the weekend, and tried to think of all the things that we could to keep them and our own children entertained.

On Saturday morning we went to our ward clean-up where we helped to clean up and make our community beautiful. (We went because the were having lunch afterwards who can pass up free lunch!) Then in the afternoon we went to the zoo. I don't know if I ever want to attempt the zoo again on a Saturday and with six kids! We did get to go in a pet the goats in te petting zoo this time, we have never been at the zoo at the right time to do that so that was fun. They also had a traveling bear display there. Jacey didn't want to go near the bears even though they were stuffed.

Then Saturday evening we made a fire in our fire pit and roasted marshmallows and made s'mores!

I hope that everyone had a fun time. I must admit I don't think I want to do anymore over night babysitting again for a while!

Church Donations

I got this from someone elses blog but wanted to pass it on:

If only 1/3 of all church members paid an extra 5 dollars this month (just once) along with their tithing and fast offering, by putting 1 dollar into each of the 5 "extra" areas of the tithing slip, then the church would get maybe about 4 million dollars into the general missionary fund, 4 million for the Book of Mormon fund, 4 million for the Humanitarian fun, 4 million for temple construction and 4 mil for the perpetual education fund.
I think this is a fantastic idea, I hope all of you who read my blog will take the challange and donate!

Easter Pictures

Here are the pictures I took on Easter Sunday. It was a nice sunny day, so I wanted to take some pictures of the kids outside. They didn't like the idea because the sun was in their eyes, that would be why they are all closing their eyes or pulling faces. (It is like pulling teeth to get all of them to smile at the same time or to even look at the camera at the same time.) My mom made the cute dresses for the girls and the ties for the boys. Thank you Grandma Cragun we love them!

EFY

I thought I better mention that all of the girls that rode in my car were really good, they just like to have the music up really really loud!

EFY

I was able to attend the best of EFYat BYU-I last night with the Young Women of my ward. I have to say that it was awesome. The speakers were fabulous and the Eclipse concert was fantastic. I was a little worried that I might never get my hearing back between the loud concert and the girls who rode in my van having the music cranked up, but I am happy to say that I can still hear! I felt like I was driving the party van, but it was fun! I hope that the girls had as much fun as I did!

The Chickens have a new home.

The chickens went to their new home last night, I wasn't home when they left so I asked Joe how it went. Jacey was already asleep so their was no crying from her and the boys had to stay in the house with Jena. I guess it went OK and no one is crying about it today!
I must say I'm not really sad that they are gone, now we can have our backyard back. Maybe I will have tomatoes and strawberries this year. They kept eating them last summer, and the best part of all no more chicken poo on the patio!

Sad Day at the Burger house

We got a visit from the Iona police man last night. He informed me that we are braking the law by having chickens. He told me that he got an anonymous complaint from one of our neighbors about the chickens, and we now have a week to be rid of them before they start documenting and ticketing us. Jacey was hysterical last night. She was so upset that she was throwing up, and Joshua is still crying about it today. We think we have a home lined up for them which is better than the alternative. That would be killing them and eating them for dinner. I don't think the kids would go along with that idea!

My Baby is a Stinker!

I put Jena down for a nap in her crib earlier today, and when I went in to get her out when she got up she was standing up, so when Joe got home from work I had him lower the bed. He was only going to lower it one notch, but she could still stand up so we ended up lowering it two notches. Here is a video of her before we lowered the bed. She is such a stinker!

A sneek peek

Here is a peek at what our tile is going to look like. Keep in mind this is the entry way and we haven't done the grout yet. The tiles start at our front door and will go throughout our kitchen and dining room.

The other picture is what our kitchen looks like right now. It is a work in progress, take notice of the cabinets they aren't green anymore hooray! I am going to paint the rest of the kitchen and dining room but I haven't decided on colors yet, so the purple will be gone at some point.
