What We Believe

Today at church our lesson in Relief Society was about how we can share what we as Latter Day Saints Believe by using our online resources like our personal blogs, so I wanted to share with all of you what we Believe.

The Articles of Faith:

1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.

3. We believe that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

6. We believe in the same organisation that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, Evangelists, and so forth.

7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to the be word of God.

9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

10. We believe in the Literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive it paradisaical glory.

11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul--We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Last Night's Dinner (It was really yummy!)

Here is what I made for dinner last night, this is one of our family's favorite meals! And it is a great way to get your kids to eat Spinach!
Three Cheese Chicken Penne Pasta Bake
1 1/2 cups multi grain penne pasta uncooked
1 pkg. (9oz) fresh spinach leaves
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite size pieces
1 tsp. dried basil leaves
1 jar Spaghetti sauce
1 can (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes drained
2 oz (1/4 of an 8 oz pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese, cubed
1 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese divided
2 TBSP Grated Parmesan Cheese
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Cook pasta as directed on package, adding spinach to the boiling water for the last 1 minute.
Cook and stir chicken and basil in large non stick skillet on medium-high heat for 3 minutes. Add Spaghetti sauce and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Simmer 3 minutes or until chicken is done. Stir in Neufchatel cheese.
Drain pasta mixture; add to the skillet; stir together and add 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese. Spoon into a 9x13 baking dish; bake for 20 minutes, sprinkle with remaining cheeses and bake an additional 3 minutes.
We also had some homemade bread sticks to go along with the pasta, it was really yummy! I wanted to share, maybe it will become a family favorite at your house!

Tonight's Dinner

This is what we are having for dinner tonight! I have to admit that I am a Pizza Snob, I am not a big fan of home made pizza, or I wasn't until I got this dough recipe from a friend. It has turned out to be a pizza that all of the family enjoys!
Pizza Dough
2 cups flour
1 TBSP sugar
1TBSP yeast
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 cup "comfy hot" water
2 TBSP Olive Oil
1/2 cup flour (add as needed)
I also add some Italian Seasoning to the dough
Preheat oven to 500 degrees F. Mix 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt, then add remaining ingredients. Makes a soft dough, but not sticky. Knead 5 minutes; rest dough for 5 minutes. Roll onto pizza stone or baking sheet. Cook 3-4 minutes to set and then add toppings. Cook another 10 minutes or until golden brown.
I hope you enjoy this a much as we do!

Cute Girls and Boys!

The girls love to pose for pictures, so here are a couple for you to enjoy (I got photoshop elements 9 for Christmas, I am just learning how to use it, and the girls are always willing or somewhat to have their pictures taken!) The boys on the other hand are a different story, here is one from earlier this year, when I went to Sam's club to pick up the print the lady asked me if it had a copyright on it, made me feel good!

Lost Teeth

In the last couple of weeks Jacey has finally lost her bottom two front teeth, she was so excited to loose them and get money from the tooth fairy! Sorry there are no pictures, because I think loose teeth and missing teeth are really gross therefore I won't take pictures, but Just for fun here is a picture of my sweet girl!

Spring break

The weather is making spring break not so much fun at our house, it has been too cold to go out and play, and today it is raining.
The boys spent yesterday painting their new bedrooms. (hopefully they will be all ready to move into before the week is over!)
Today the boys went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part One, while the girls and I did some retail therapy!
Tomorrow hopefully we will finish up painting the boys room, Josh also has an eye appointment maybe after it's over he will be able to see again!
I think this week will also be filled with video games, DVDs and hopefully the weather will get better, and there will also be bike riding and trampoline jumping!

Family Fun Night

Joe has been traveling quite a bit the last little while for work, so we decided that we needed to spend some good quality time together as a family, last night we took the kids out bowling and to dinner, followed by a trip to Hastings to get some new family movies. (We love the buy 2 get one for $1 sale that Hastings run on all of their previously viewed movies).
We had our same bit of drama that we all ways have with Jacey, she is so scared to try new things that she always has a bit of a melt down before we start, but about half way through the game, she told me that bowling was a lot more fun than rollerskating (I think Jena may disagree with her on that!) In the end I think that everyone had a really good time, Jakob, Joe and I all ended with a three way tie!
Now for your viewing pleasure here are some pictures from our bowling adventure, enjoy!
