Walk with Christ

Day 10
Read the story of Martha in Luke 10:38-42
Often times when we think of this story we think of how Mary chose to listen to the words of Christ and Martha chose to labor. Someone must labor and this was Martha's talent. She was burdened down this day and tired and asked the Lord, "dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone?" How often do we feel unappreciated? How often do we let others feel that way? Take time today to send a note to someone thanking them for a service rendered to you.

Walk with Christ

Day 9

The Lord speaks to us through prophets. Read D&C 1:38

Today read a general conference talk given by a prophet of the Lord. Choose one that will mean something personal to you. Take notes or write a quote down from the talk that speaks to you. Put the quote somewhere you can see it daily.

Walk with Christ

Day 8
Read John 10:1-18
Do you know Christ's voice? When you pray do you stop to listen? Today take time to heed the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Act on those little impressions that you think will not make a difference. A phone call to a friend, a smile to an unfriendly face, all those things can make a difference.
Making a Difference
from "Walking the Talk Together:
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a figure in the distance. As he got close, he realizsed the figure was that of a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Aproaching the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?" the youth replied, "throwing starfish in the ocean. The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they'll die." "Son" the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish> You can't possibly make a difference!"
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said, "I made a difference for that one."

Walk with Christ

Day 7
Read John 4:1-42
Prepare to receive a learning moment. Not in the big things that happen, but in the small everyday things in life. Often our greatest treasures are found where we least expect it. Try to discover in every hour a Heavenly blessing.
Quote by Henry Ward Beecher:
If one should give me a dish of sand, and tell me there were particles of iron in it, I might look for them with my eyes, and search for them with my clumsy fingers, and be unable to detect them; but let me take a magnet and sweep through it, and it would draw to itself the almost invisible particles, by the mere power of attraction. The unthankful heart, like my finger in the sand, discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day, and as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find in every hour some heavenly blessings; only the iron in God's sand is gold.

Walk with Christ

Day 6
Read John 9:1-38
Attempt to analyze through different eyes a situation that has been troubling you. Pray that the Savior will touch your eyes so that you will see what you need to do differently. Now take some time to write down some of the good things that have come to you through Christ. What blessings do you have?

Walk with Christ

Day 5

Elder L. Tom Perry stated: It is not enough to behave reverently; we must feel it in our hearts reverence for our Heavenly Father and our Lord, Jesus Christ. Reverence flows from our admiration and respect for Deity. It is something we feel inside our hearts no matter what is going on around us. It is also a personal responsibility.

Walk with Christ

Day 4

Read Matthew 6:1-13

Are you Praying to Him? The best way to get to know Him, is to talk with Him!

The Difference

I got up early one morning and rushed right into the day; I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me, and heavier came each task. "Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered. He answered, "You didn't ask."

I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on, gray and bleak; I wondered why God didn't show me. He said, "but you didn't seek."

I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock. God gently and lovingly chided, "my child, you didn't knock."

I woke up early this morning, and paused before entering the day; I had so much to accomplish that day that I had to take time to pray.

Take time today to get down on your knees and offer up a sincere, heartfelt prayer to your Heavenly Father. He is there willing to listen, no matter what happened in our day.

Walk with Christ

Yesterday I was going through the Young Women lesson manual before church and found this envelope with the title "Walk with Christ" Our Young Women President handed this out to our Young Women at the first of the year for our Missionary Activity that we had. I decided as I was reading it that I wanted to try and live closer to my Savior and follow this things for the next two weeks. I hope you don't mind that I am sharing them with all of you. Hopefully I will remember to post each day for all of you to read and help you draw closer to our Savior.

Day 1
Read about Christ's Birth in Luke 2.
Do I know that my Heavenly Father loves me? How do I know this is true? Do I know that I am his daughter? Do I know that I lived with Him before I came here? Because of His love for me, He sent His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Walk Tall, you're a daughter of God

Right now I have a prayer deep within my heart, A prayer for each of you there is a special part that you remember who you are and He who lives above. Please seek for Him and live His way: You'll feel His love. Walk tall, you're a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong- please remember who you are. Try to understand, you're part of His Great plan. He's closer than you know- reach up, He'll take your hand.

Long before the time you can remember. Our Father held you in His arms so tender. Those loving arms released you as he sent you down to earth. He said, My child. I love you. Don't forget your great worth. Walk tall, you're a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong- please remember who you are. Try to understand, you're part of His great plan. He's closer than you know-reach up, He'll take your hand.

This life on earth we knew would not be easy. At times we lose our way- His path we may not see. But please remember-always please-that you are not alone. He'll take your hand. He loves you! He will guide you home. Walk tall, you're a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong-please remember who you are. Try to understand, you're part of his great plan. He's closer than you know-reach up, He'll take your hand.

Jamie Glen.

Today, walk tall and try to remember who you are.
Day 2
Matthew 3:13-17
13. Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14. But John forbade him ,saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15. And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon him:
17. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Christ was baptized to be an example. Today, remember people are watching you. Old and young, learned and unlearned. Today, lead a life that is an example of Christ.

Live so that those who know you, but don't know Him; will want to know Him, because they know you.

Look Who's One

Last Friday August 28 was Jena's Birthday, it seems like time has flown by! I can't believe how much she has changed in 1 year. Gone is the dark brown hair, chubby cheeks, and the little baby cry. Now her hair is light brown almost blond and now she screams when she wants to be heard!

My parent's came up to celebrate Jena's birthday with us. (It is also my mom's birthday).

Grandma and I made this bear cake for Jena. I also made cupcakes so we didn't have to put the
bear cake in front of her (Nobody else would have gotten any cake if we did that).
Opening her presents! She got a stroller and a baby, and she also got a ball activity center. I think she loved all of her gifts!

This is the pie I made for Grandma it was very yummy!

Today was her one year check up at the doctor. She weighs 15 pounds 15 ounces and is 27 3/4 inches. The doctor isn't happy with her weight so I am supposed to put her on a high calorie diet and give her pediasure everyday. I'm not concerned with her weight she is just small like everyone else, so I don't know how long I will give her the pediasure or do a high calorie diet.
I feel like she is growing like a weed, she has had 4 teeth for about a month and a half and she is a walking maniac, she loves to eat and scream, we wish she could talk so she wouldn't scream

so much!

Today is my favorite day of the year!

Today is my favorite day of the year because the kids went back to school yippee!

Jakob is in his last year of Elementary School, he headed off this morning feeling pretty good that he is in the sixth grade. (I am a little worried about all the pre-teen hormones that will be raging this year, we have already had girls calling him and I am sure this year will be the same way) Joshua started fifth grade and couldn't wait to be out the door and on his way this morning, and Jacey started Kindergarten today. She is in the afternoon class so all I heard from about 9 am was "is it time to go to school yet?" Hopefully she will feel the same way tomorrow! When I took her to school this afternoon she didn't even want me to walk her to class we pulled up at the school and I got out of the car to let her out and she gets out of the van gives me a hug and says "Bye Mom" I did end up walking her to class, I felt bad for some of the kids in her class because their parents were lingering in the classroom, I think that just makes it harder for the kids to stay when their parents won't leave!
I am so glad that all of my kids are at the age that they still love going to school!

Now Jena and I get to have a fun filled day of house cleaning! (Maybe if she will let me get anything done!)

10 Years Old

It was 10 years ago today that my Joshua was born! I don't know where the time has gone.

We had lots of fun today for his special day, We went to Red Robin for lunch, then we went to Toy's R Us so he could pick out his birthday presents and then we went to the movies and saw Aliens in the Attic. he also got to go swimming in our pool and we also ordered pizza for dinner (I think he was quite spoiled today) I hope he had a great day!

I made him 2 lego brick cakes, I decided that I am not a very good lego cake maker!

Happy Birthday Josh!

The talk

I think that my talk went well yesterday, at least I didn't have 45 minutes to fill like the week that Joe spoke.. The week he had to speak there were 2 youth speakers,1 adult speaker and a musical number all before his turn, and all of that was finished at 25 minutes to the hour.I'm sure glad that it is over and hopefully I won't have to do it again for a while!
